Low inflation renews rates speculation: The BoE's recent pledge to buy 100 billion pounds ($130 billion) of mortgage-backed securities this week has revived the housing market, potentially boosting prices. "We have seen the BoE saying something, and we are seeing the data back it up," said Ian Kavanagh, global managing director of Hometrack, which tracks the house price index.
